Due to recent hail damage, we got a new roof. What an ordeal it was.
Unknown to the inspector, the decking boards were rotten in several places. The roofing crew arrived at 7:00 a.m. and started stripping the roof. The decking underneath the shingles didn't meet the housing code so they had to go get new boards. They were supposed to be done by 5 p.m. I went to my son's house to babysit and expected the work to be done when I got home. When I arrived, there was a guy asleep (or just resting) in the shade on the roof. Another guy was on the ground asleep. A third guy was sitting in the sun drinking Gatorade. It was 103 degrees. They worked until 9.
The next day it was the same story with them finishing the project around 8:30 p.m. They even repaired the garage ceiling where something or someone came crashing through. The roof looks great and we even had to bump the thermostat up a notch. Who knew?
